Meet
ROB PARRISH

Rob is a fourth generation Nunda Resident with 45 years of asphalt paving experience serving thousands of residents and municipalities throughout McHenry County. Rob and his wife Lori have chosen to raise their son Casey in the historic downtown Crystal Lake neighborhood. For 26 successful years, Rob owned and operated Parrish Paving with his parents Bud and Rita, along with his brother Tim. Rob has been a member of the Crystal Lake Lions Club for over 10 years serving the needs of the community as president for the past 2 years. It gives him great pride to have lead the organization in funding donations to individuals, and local non-profit organizations, in excess of $250,000.

As an 8-year elected trustee on the Nunda Township board, Rob has been successful in his goal to annually abate $100,000 back to residents as a result of responsible spending habits. Rob also worked hard to implement Nunda’s first competitively bid “township wide single contractor garbage service”. This program saved residents over $900,000 for the duration of the first contract. It also saved the integrity of our local roads from the impact of multiple carriers on each road weekly.

Rob is running for the Nunda Township Highway Commissioner because the residents of Nunda Township deserve a candidate who can reform the current careless spending habits, abolish current nepotism practices, and implement a fiscally conservative road district. Nunda needs a better system of government that is built on leadership that is successful through collaborative efforts of problem solving with effective communication and cooperation with all residents in mind.

THE ISSUES

When elected, Rob will:

RETURN TO MERIT Employment

Remove all current forms of nepotism practiced by current commissioner.

“I will never hire a family member.”

Restore integrity

Advocate for increased transparency, better communication, and restore integrity to the office with an emphasis on accountability to the residents’ concerns via phone, email, and Facebook.

“Good government is like good business; open communication and collaboration lead to optimal results where everyone wins.”

RESOLVE MISUSED FUNDS

Find resolution to the State’s Attorney and Sherriff’s current investigation of apparent misuse of funds (Wegner Road IGA/ Park).

“Public funds should never be used for private gain.”

IMPROVE traffic safety

Work collaboratively with Nunda residents, School District 155, McDot Engineers, and concerned parents to solve the traffic safety issues that currently exist at Walkup and Dvorak Drive entrance to PRHS.

“We will find safe solutions to protect our children.”

bring fiscal responsibility

Bring fiscal responsibility, effective leadership, and professional collaboration to the road district office.

“Utilize professional skills learned in managing 100’s of municipal road programs.”

REINSTATE HONEST BIDS

Find new feasible solutions to the current highway commissioner’s propensity to fund the largest artificial non-profit construction company in all of Northern Illinois by restoring competitive bidding practices for Nunda Township Projects.

“To maximize the utility of Nunda road district dollars, I will competitively bid all large road construction projects.”
